Our Roots Are in Lawrence County
The Lawrence County Farm Bureau (LCFB), [officially] organized on April 1, 1920, celebrates the 100-Year Anniversary in 2020. It remains a voluntary membership organization that represents the interests of its farming and professional members.
By January 1920, some 340 farmers had become members for a three-year period with $10 annual dues. Officers and Directors elected at the first meeting of the LCFB on February 25, 1920. The first LCFB Annual Meeting was held on October 27, 1920. The LCFB reorganized in 1923 so that its members were also members of the Illinois Farm Bureau and the Illinois Agricultural Association.
